VODICE – THE CITY OF THE FLOWERS
Vodice is a small place near Šibenik, some 9 km from Šibenik and 60 km away from Zadar.
The word Vodice means « the source of drinkable water» and it was mentioned for the first time in one written document from XV century.
You may reach Vodice by the Adriatic Highway, i.e. by land, sea or air; the airports Split – Trogir and Zadar are about 45 min. drive from Vodice. From Vodice southwards there is the main centre of the County – the city of Šibenik – Knin, where also Vodice belong to, is very proud of two national parks, the Krka river and the Kornati islands.
Vodice has the status of a town with 10.000 inhabitants, and in summer even up to 200.000 guests are staying in this small resort and surroundings area.; Lots of people call Vodice – the town of flowers. Actually, flowers are the symbol of the town of Vodice.
Climate: there are two seasons in Vodice actually – the summer and very mild winter. The air temperature in summer can reach even 37°C and the max. sea temperature 27 °C.
In the summer Vodice live a life fully and dynamically various events and manifestations such as: special Easter and Christmas customes, jazz festival, exibitions, concerts, carnivals, falcon centre, summer program for guests.. VODICE GRAD CVIJEĆA
Vodice malo mjesto smješteno 9 km od Šibenika i 60 km do Zadra. Riječ «Vodice» znači izvor pitke vode, i prvi put se spominju u pisanom dokumentu iz XV stoljeća. Do Vodica možete doći kopnenim putem Jadranskom magistralom ili autocestom, te morem ili zrakom, aerodromi Split- Trogir i Zadar 45 su minuta vožnjom udaljeni od Vodica. Južno od Vodica nalazi se glavni centar Šibensko-Kninske županije grad Šibenik, gdje Vodice pripadaju, a ova regija ponosi se i sa 2 Nacionalna parka, Krka i Kornati.
Vodice imaju status grada sa 10.000 stanovnika, a ljeti taj broj doseže čaki i do 200.000 gostiju koji odsjedaju u ovom malom naselju i njegovoj okolici. Uspoređujući sa drugim mjestima u Dalmaciji Vodice su veoma živopisan i uredan grad sa puno cvijeća; zbog čega mnogo ljudi Vodice nazivaju – GRADOM CVIJEĆA, a cvijeće je postalo i simbol grada Vodica.
